Southampton Archery Club run a number of award schemes as well as formal classifications, with badges presented free of charge to members once a month.
The most popular scheme is the 252 scheme, where badges are awarded for achieving a score of 252 points or more at a particular distance using a fixed number of arrows. Distances are in yards and use a full-size 122cm face, with 5-zone scoring. Different numbers of arrows are shot by different bow types and there are eight badges to earn from 10 yards up to 100 yards.
We also award badges for the Portsmouth and Frostbite rounds. The Portsmouth round is very popular and is shot indoors at 20 yards using a 60cm face with 10-zone scoring, with twelve badges available for achieving scores ranging from 200 up to the maximum score of 600. The Frostbite round is an outdoor round, usually shot under floodlights at 30 metres using an 80cm face with 10-zone scoring, with eight badges available for achieving scores ranging from 100 up to the maximum score of 360.
For Clout archers, we have badge schemes for metric & imperial clouts, with white, black, blue, red, gold and purple badges available.
